Day 9 Rubiaes. 14.6 miles Sao Sebasteo

It’s 9 pm and I am almost too tired to write tonight.  We walked back from dinner 300 meters down the road from where we are staying.  34 Euros tonight for a little cubby with private bathroom in this small town in the middle of the country.

The route today was rigorous.  Mostly up very steeply and mostly on rocks and cobbles.  It was hot as well.  But thrilling and everyone who arrived , our Peregrino cohort are jazzed!

It’s so much fun - this instant friendship business.

Tonight we had dinner with an Envlish couple. He is 84 and she is almost 8o.  They walked the Frances 5 years ago which was when we did.  It was good to connect with people older than us and share a lively conversation on everything from Trump to the Royal Wedding to history and the Camino.  Hope to see them again.

Some photos of the day. And tomorrow we are in Spain.

Cobbles and hills and heat

Camino on horseback

A Cruz de faro-  people choose to leave something here that they would like to let go of - symbolically.  I left some pounds.
