So I don’t imagne the current scene would be ideal to many people but re we are:
In the lovely town of Porto da Lima. Clothes are washed and we just had a lunch of salads, wine and Craig has a ham and cheese sandwich on crusty bread. Now we relax. TV is on. CNN actually. In Portugal, all foreign language broadcasts are subtitled, not dubbed.
.
I feel a nap coming on. There is no place else I have to be; no place else I’d rather be. Later, in the evening we will stroll through town. Get some more cash and have a light dinner.
Photos from today’s walk:
Tonight we wandered the town enjoying the feeling of walking sans backpack. We weren’t very hungry but found this little restaurant where we thought we’d get an authentic delicious meal. Several people were eating there and seemingly enjoying the food. Some meat and rice and wine that tastes like Kool aid were severed by a woman who looked and acted ancient. It was!’t good. So we had to indulge in some ice cream afterwards to eliminate the taste. All part of the experience.
A Danish couple we met along the way:
Some photos from today’s walk, mostly along small paths and some even paved or dirt without the usual cobblestones that epitomize Portugal’s walking surfaces.
This woman was walking faster than we were!
Our Camino cohort or part of it as we stop for a refreshment along the way. We play leapfrog and it’s a lot of fun to become fast friends!
We met the South African, English, and Australian woman coming out of the elevator at our hotel. Don’t even recall their names but exclamations and big hugs ensued.
This is the Camino joy!
