A gorgeous day of walking right beside the ocean, mostly on boardwalks. Since it was Sunday, the locals were out in big numbers, enjoying the weather and of course food!
It didn’t have a Camino feel to it but more like a summer day at a resort! Surfers, local people, tourists and a few peregrinos made up the demographic.
In Portugal there are options for which Camino path to take. We chose this ocean walk to start and then we’ll turn inward for a more authentic and varied Camino experience.
Note: since we’d walked from Porto to Matisinhos the day before, we took the train from Porto to begin in Matisinhos to begin today. Good thing since it turned out to be a 16 mile day nonetheless.
